Blogmas day 6: Festive short breaks on a budget

Hi and welcome to Blogmas day 6! Today I’m going to be sharing my favourite festive short break ideas for people on a budget! For most people Christmas has to be budgeted for strategically but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the holiday season and relaxing on an affordable short breaks! Today I will share with you 5 magical places that are affordable but have the same festive charm as expensive locations such as Canada and New York.

Alsace – France

France’s Alsace region is a magical wonderland when it comes to Christmastime. They have a true appreciation for Christmas and a beautiful cultural vibe. It’s a small, quaint town with an amazing Christmas market and the entire town is dressed up with decorations. Alsace truly looks like a fairy tale Christmas village. In the neighbouring towns, the stalls sell everything from small gifts unique to the area to pretzels and delicious food and mulled wine to handmade ornaments and home-wares.

Grindelwald – Switzerland

This is perfect for travelling couples! It’s such a cute and romantic location especially at Christmas! It truly is a magical country anyway but at Christmastime the magic truly comes to life! Grindelwald is a stunning village in the Swiss Alps. It’s a postcard village, honestly the most stunning place I’ve ever seen in my life! It has something for everyone: scenery, sports, adventure, as well as amazing winter activities! In my opinion the best part of Grindelwald is the train that goes to the top of Europe!
